These are three pros and cons of being a DOC Ranger!
Pros...
You would be with all the wild life!
You can be there with no other people and run around Free!
The food wouldn't be hassled by other people!
Cons
NO WIFI OR CONNECTION!
I know it is so bad and some foods you wouldn't be able to take and no people, I know I said it would be cool to see no people but that means no friends and no family.
I don't think I would like to be a DOC Ranger would it be your thing?

ReplyDeleteApart from not being able to see your friends and family (which you would still be able to see them when you are not working) is there anything else holding you back from wanting to be a DOC Ranger.
I think it would be a great job. You mentioned being outdoors, but also being able to lots of our native wildlife in their natural habitat.
As much as I love technology including internet and social media. I would love to spend time off grid too, getting back to our roots and enjoying what nature has to offer us.

ReplyDeleteI like the fact that you have thought carefully about the pros and cons of being a DOC Ranger. Maybe next time you could organise your pros and cons into bullet pointed lists to make it easier for your readers to see.
On the subject of your cons, it seem like you'd feel pretty lonely. Are you sure you'd be the only person? I wonder if there would be teams of DOC Rangers on the island.. Perhaps you could do a little research to find out.
Personally, I wouldn't want to be a DOC Ranger because it just isn't my passion in life. This doesn't mean I don't care for the survival and conservation of animals, because I can always help in lots of different ways like donating. Could you think of a different way you could help?
