WWII
Many events happened over this time, I have chosen 2 events to blog about today.
The first event during WWII, I have chosen is the Invasion of Poland on 1st September 1939.
This started at 4.43am in the morning. Germany sent over 1.5 million troops along the Polish border. While at the same time the Germans bombed the Polish airfields. German warships and u-boats attacked the naval forces too. The Germans were lead by their Nazi leader Adolf Hitler. Because of this attack, Britain and France then declared war on Germany. Starting WWII.
United Nations formed 24th October 1945. This is the second event I chose.
The United Nations was formed on this day, after WWII. 51 countries committed to international peace and security. In hopes that another World War would not happen.
Follow my blog for more daily posts.
Those are definitely 2 substantial events in our history relating to WWII. United Nations has continued to keep some what peace and security in our lives. Personally can say I am very pleased that our country is part of the United Nations. Who knows what would have happened if this organisation had not been set up.
ReplyDeleteBula Sam,
ReplyDeleteYou have chosen two very powerful and history changing events to describe to your fellow bloggers. I am amazed at the amount of research you have done, where did you find your information? Adolf Hitler was a very powerful leader that changed the course of history dramatically. The invasion of Poland was a devastating and horrific event that destroyed many lives. The formation of the United Nations was a great moment as many countries formed an alliance with each other and were able to create peace. How many years did the WWII last? Do you know how many lives were lost in these horrific years?
Thank you for all this incredible information,
Megan
