Activity 2 The Great Taupo Cycle Challenge

Which people would I take to support me cycling around Lake Taupo.

First I would take my mum because she encourages me to do my best.
Mike Sheeran my gym instructor because he pushes me to not just do my best but more.
And last but not least My other gym instructor Sherylee she pushes me above my limit and lifts the expectations.
Who would you take if you went on a trip like that?

Lovely blog post. I can understand why you chose those people I'm kind of the same. I would have like to see a little bit more explaining why else you would take them along with you.

I am a year 6 at Pt England school but I will be a year 7 next year anyways I am friends with Jahzara and I like you comment.

I think that it's great that you are doing the summer learning journey. I like you work and will definelty look at it again. Where there any other choice you thought about what made you think that they probably weren't the best choices.

    Looking forward to more!

  4. Hi Sam,

Thank you for your kind words. It’s lovely to hear that my encouragement means so much to you. I do it because I know you are capable of more than you give yourself credit for. And I am pretty sure Mike and Sherylee will be the same too.
Thinking about cycling around Lake Taupo, sounds like an event we may have to look into.

Great post pal, good to read a little bit about what you're up to on the holiday.

I think cycling around Lake Taupo is an awesome idea. Plus with your determination, dedication and awesomeness you can totally achieve anything buddy! Keep striving to be the best and being the positive influence you are, its super inspiring (even to an old guy like me hahahahahaha) and motivating.

Thanks for the shout out too, am glad I can offer my knowledge and expertise to pass on to someone so willing to take things on board and run with it.

Keep up the awesome writing, and keep us posted on the Lake Taupo Cycle! can't wait to read/hear more about your holidays!

  6. Hey Sam!

Thanks for the lovely shout out, I'm so super proud of you and how you always try to better yourself and push a bit hard or jump a bit futher. You are going to be an amazing instructor (probably better than Mike - but don't tell him that lol). I can't wait to have you on stage with me!

Can't wait to hear more about your adventures when you get back to the gym.

    xx Sherylee

  7. Talofa Sam,

I think you picked a great team of family and friends to support you, it sounds like they will keep you going no matter what. Your Mum has got the encouragement on lock and your gym instructors will definitely give you the determination. You will have it completely set on the day with a supportive and helpful crew!

My Dad used to cycle in long distance races a lot when he was younger, cyclists rode until they couldn't really feel their behinds. Perhaps next time you could talk about the challenges your support crew would help you overcome. What do you think you'd find hardest about riding in a long distance race? For me it'd be my lack of stamina and fitness.

When it comes to my support team, I'd probably take my Mum because she is my biggest supporter. My youngest sister would be a part of it too because I feel like she'd have the loudest cheer in the crowd (true story). Lastly, my niece would be a part of my support team, because she'd probably do the race too, to encourage me to finish. :)

    Toe feiloa'i fo'i,

    Cia.

  8. Hi Samuel,
Well done on finishing this Summer Learning Journey activity. I think that you and your support crew would do very well in the Lake Taupo Cycling Challenge. How long do you think it would take you to finish the entire course? Keep up the good work.
