Activity 2 Carbon sinks don't Stink!

Mushrooms, Yuck!
I need to create a sink to get rid of all of the food that I HATE!
So first I would have a built in spiralizer  and then It would drop into a bucket witch would get taken to chickens and pigs nearby so that they can eat what I don't!
I think i would put in mostly...
Mushrooms!
Image result for edible mushroom
I hate the texture of them and the taste!
What foods do you not like?

  1. Hello Samuel,
I am Vitaraag. It sure looks like you hate mushrooms and I do to. I would put rice mushroom strawberries and things like that. Do you want to put anything else in your sink? I would put a lot of stuff in the sink. Maybe next time you can say more things that you want to put in your sink. Keep up the amazing work!

  2. Malo e lelei Sam,

I agree with Vitaraag, it is clear that you do not like mushrooms. When I was your age I didn't like mushroom's either, all because I copied my cool Aunty who didn't like mushrooms. However, mushrooms are now one of my favourite ingredients when cooking. They go in my breakfast with my eggs, they go in my lasagna, pasta, pizza, everything. I can complete understand why you don't like them though as they do have a weird texture don't they. I can't think of many ingredients I would put down my sink but I think it would have to be salmon. I try it almost yearly but I still can't bring myself to like it. One day my taste buds will change and I will come to enjoy the taste of salmon.

I really like your smart initiative about putting the food down your sink and feeding it to the pigs. That is very clever and extremely topical. This is a great way to reduce your waste. Do you have pigs that you can feed your scraps too?

    Well done, Sam,
    Megan :)

  3. Hi Samuel,
Well done on finishing this Summer Learning Journey activity. I also find the taste of mushrooms a bit weird but I still eat them. I like your idea about giving your scraps to the pigs. It's a good way to reduce waste. Keep up the good work.

  5. Hi Sam,

Your description of what your sink would do was very descriptive. Was also impressed with your sustainability idea of feeding those scraps to pigs, another idea could be putting them into a compost bin.

My sink would take Pork!!! You know how much I dont like pork. I havent eaten it since I was 18, i would also add Kina, Paua, Anchovies, Tofu.

    Keep up the great blogging.
