  1. Kia ora Sam,

My name is Rachel and I am working with Megan and Cia on the Summer Learning Journey programme this year. It is so cool to see that you are back with us this summer! I loved watching your video and was really pleased to hear that you have been doing maths at school and that you knew the technique required to reach the answer of 1095 mls. I read in your blog that weren't sure if you got it right but this is the correct answer. Nicely done!

I hope that you will continue to post activities throughout the summer. I know that our whole team is really looking forward to reading them and posting comments. You're setting such a great example for others!

When you are not busy blogging with us, what else are you up to this summer? Do you have any special plans? Our family is off to MOTAT (the Museum of Transport and Technology) to look at the Christmas lights tonight. I can't wait! I really love the look of the lights.

Wishing you and your family a restful, peaceful and enjoyable summer holiday.

    See you online again soon!

    Cheers,
    Rachel

    2. Hi Sam,

Merry Christmas to you and your family. I hope that you are having a great day! It's awesome to note that you have completed so many posts, including newer ones than the post that I commented on. As a team, we often read all of the posts and then post a comment on an activity that we can relate to.

Today I am posting comments on the blogs of students who are posting activities up in the northern part of New Zealand. It's really cool to be able to read the blogs of students from all around New Zealand. I don't know that I have a favourite activity with the SLJ this year but I, personally, love to go swimming and to meet up with friends for a walk. I often meet friends at Cornwall Park in Auckland for a stroll on a Saturday morning. I had hoped to meet them yesterday but, unfortunately, the weather didn't co-operate! It rained and rained...

What are you up to today? Are you having a nice time inside with family and friends?

I hope that you're having a very nice day. I look forward to blogging with you again soon.

      Cheers,
      Rachel :)

    1. Hi Sam,

I will look forward to reading your upcoming posts. I hopped online for a little while on Christmas Day to read student's work and also spent time with my family, too. It's so important to do both, isn't it? Work a little bit and then play a little bit - it's all about balance!

Off to enjoy a walk in the sunshine with my family.

      Talk to you soon!

      Rachel

  3. Hi Sam,

What an awesome post, I loved how you used different media to get your post across. That is not a lot of water that they need, I can now understand why they survive in the deserts so well.

    Keep up the great blogging.
    Mum

  4. Hi Samuel,
Well done on finishing this activity. I think that you did a great job explaining how to work out the problem. Also, I like how you made a video to show how you worked it out. It was a great idea. Keep up the good work Samuel!
