NAMES!

This blog is all about names.

I will tell you some of the most common names in our school.

The most common boys names are Ben, Max and Alex.
The most common girls name at our school are Dorothy and Sophia.

We have several students who have the same name.
Talking about names in common.  I have the same name as my dad and grandfather.
My name also used to be a common name at our school, I used to get confused when the other Sam was called up during a school assembly as our surnames sounded similar too.  Very confusing.

Were you named after someone in your family?

  1. Hey Samuel,

The names you posted do seem fairly common in fact I know at least two people for every name in your list! I like that you included your own name as a common name. Have you ever thought about why you, your Dad and your Grandfather have the same name?

A common name for boys when I was in school was Sione; for girls I remember a few were named Samantha and Luisa. I wonder if there is a name in the world that no one else has…

Another great post, ka mau te wehi!

    Toe feiloa’i fo’i,

    Cia.

  2. We decided on the name Samuel as no other name suited you. You were 4 days old and we were calling you bubba, and your dad asked me what I thought about naming you after him. It was perfect, you suited the name and that was our decision made. Your dad's first name and middle name come from both of his grandfathers.
I think its nice carrying names through the generations. Your sisters are the same they both have a middle name that was after one of my grandmothers and one of your dad's grandmothers.

I myself find my name is quite unique. I know there are other Romana's in the world but have never met another one. And also my name came from a television show called Doctor Who.
