What is your favorite movie?  Would you like a silent movie with just music and no voices?

I am going to be trying to explain to you what I think they are doing in the trailer

TRAILER

This movie is called The Gold Rush this is about a group of four people against a whole city of people going far north on a race for gold.

They face lots of problems and fix lots of problems.
It looks like a funny movie to me.

Watch the trailer and tell me what you think about the movie what are your thoughts on it.

  1. I remember as a child watching some of Charlie Chaplin's silent movies. They need you to pay more attention to the details as there is no dialogue for you to follow. I used to imagine what they would be saying.
Maybe we could try that one day, it would be interesting to see how different our stories would be.
This movie like the other Charlie Chaplin ones looks to be funny as well.

  2. Hey Sam,

What an awesome story line you have described. Did you read this somewhere or is this the plot that you felt was portrayed in the trailer? Isn't it amazing how different the comedy was back in the 1920's. Have you thought about how they made movies 90 years ago?

The comedy in the Charlie Chaplin movies remind me of the Mr Bean movies. I wonder whether Mr Bean was inspired by the legendary Charlie Chaplin. The silent movies definitley allow you to use your imagination to create your own plot. I may have to find a silent movie to watch with my family this weekend.

I hope you are enjoying the sunshine today,
    Megan :)
