bonus activity restricted access

Dam!
Did you know that lots of people have been stopped from going to Machu picchu.
Because when the tourists go there they can cause some damage has been done to the buildings.
I think it is good that the local government has restricted the amount of people that are aloud to go there.
Because it is historical land site and we don't want to disappoint the locals.

What do you think of the decision to keep the buildings it tip top shape comment below.

  2. Hi Samuel,
Well done on finishing this activity. I also think that the government has made a good decision by limiting the amount of people visiting Macchu Picchu. That way, the historical site can last for many more years. Keep up the good work.

I think the local government made the right decision. It is important for us to preserve the history of such historical sites.

  4. Kia ora Sam,

Ka pai on sharing your opinion on the limitation of tourists to Machu Picchu. It is a real shame that the government have put these sanctions in place, however, I can completely understand. I read that in 2017, Machu Picchu received 1,411,279 visitors. This must be having a devastating effect on the natural land surrounding Machu Picchu, as they all have to walk up a small track to get to this marvelous site. I could imagine that this damage would lead to construction work to fix the surrounding land which would take the natural beauty away.

Do you want to visit Machu Picchu one day?

Well done on sharing your opinion, Sam.

    Ngā mihi,
    Megan :)
