Activity 2 the seven sisters

Hi guys!
At the bottom there will be a link to the story!
To day I am making a summary of the story: The Seven Stars Of Matariki.

I think the story was really good and it was entertaining.
The motto of the story would I think have to be 'don't judge a book by it's cover'
Because the seven brothers fell for the stars because they thought they were beautiful but didn't think about anyone  not even there selves!
All they cared about was their wives.
Mati the youngest of the seven brothers had the powers to change form so he would spy on his brothers wives and that is how they found out that their wives were going to starve them to death!

What do you think of this story?
Please tell me I f you think I made a spelling mistake here is the link
Bye!

  1. Hello Samuel,
I am Gargee from Hay Park School. Your post is so simple yet so informative, and that is very good. I also like how you put a photo for those who don't know what the seven sisters are. I personally don't believe in these stories, but it's only my opinion. My favourite part is when Metai saved the day and informed his brothers. Do you believe in these stores? I'd love to know!

  2. Hi Sam,

It sounds like you have read the story, 'The Seven Stars Of Matariki' a few times. Is this something you studied at school? Thank you so much for summarising the stories. You are absolutely right, the moral of the story seems to be to not judge a book by it's cover. That is a really great way of putting it. I think it could also be to not forget who you are. When you are hanging out with friends it is quite easy to act differently, and sometimes you don't even realise it. Mitai stayed true to himself and he could see what was happening to his brothers.

Remember who you are, and what your morals are so that you don't loose yourself in a friendship.

    Awesome summarising and explaining, Sam,
    Megan :)

  3. Hi Samuel,
Well done on finishing this Summer Learning Journey activity. You retold the story of the Seven Stars of Matariki really well. Mitai's brother were super lucky that he managed to save them from being starved to death. Keep up the good work.

  6. Hi Sam,

I love your summary of the story. The image you have used is very descriptive too. Not many people would know the star constellation Matariki looks like. (the 7 sisters).

    Awesome blogging!!
