It is really sad to see our rivers being polluted and not a lot being done about it to fix them. What are some suggestions you think could help solve this issue.
ReplyDeleteI think there should be groups of people who spend time removing what they can from the rivers. Also some form of education in schools and in the community to make people aware of what is happening and what they can do to help prevent it .

I like how you've put Temuka and Manawatu, but is seems like there is a bigger issue. You haven't found any information about what is being done, so maybe you could've chosen some other rivers that have information. If you do, you may have a higher chance of getting points.
Why do you think people throw rubbish everywhere?

ReplyDeleteWell done on providing the names for two polluted rivers in Aotearoa; 'Temuka River' and 'Manawatu River'. Next time, it would be great if you added a little more information about each river and even some pictures as the picture you've provided is actually of a waterway in India. For example, what is polluting each of the rivers?
Also, remember that the activity asks you to talk about what is being done to clean up the rivers. Please research the rivers you've selected to see if you can find something. Thinking about these polluted rivers reminds me of how polluted lots of our beaches are. Waikowhai Bay is located near my home, I like to take the Dog there for a walk and a little splash around. I've read that it is safe to swim in, but I don't often see people swimming there. Have you ever gone swimming at Waikowhai Bay?

ReplyDeleteWell done on finishing this activity. It's sad to hear that rivers in New Zealand like the Temuka river and the Manawatu river are polluted with rubbish in them and nothing is being done to clean them. Hopefully one day somehow they will be cleaned. Keep up the good work.
